For grand openings, employee picnics, community events, or any other large-scale event, volunteers or hobby entertainers may not be enough. Kaleidoscope Art & Entertainment specializes in corporate event entertainment–here are a few things that we suggest everyone consider before booking your event entertainment:

Ask Yourself: Why Are We Getting Entertainment?
Reason #1: To Draw a Crowd.
For most family-friendly businesses, we’ve seen crowds of hundreds (and in rare cases thousands) show up for free face painting, balloon twisting, and mascot meet-and-greets.
If you lead your marketing with FREE [list of family entertainment], it is truly the fastest and most cost-effective way to draw a massive crowd.
Reason #2: To Be Memorable.
If you only want branded entertainment that reflects your logo, color scheme, or imagery, ask about our custom tattoo stencils, caricature pages, or face painting / balloon twisting menus.
Reason #3: To Reward Existing Customers or Insiders.
If your event is exclusive to existing customers, higher-value entertainment like caricatures for families or tarot readings teens or adults can also be hits, depending on your demographic.
Or, if your event isn’t fixed at a certain day, consider a late night paint night for adults or a holiday Easter Bunny or Santa meet-and-greet to spoil your insiders even further.

Convert Visitors into Return Customers
Method #1: Create opportunities for one-on-one conversations.
If you’re going to hire entertainment that creates a line (like face painting or character meet-and-greets), consider giving someone on your team a sales- or customer-service-specific mission.
- Build your email list
- Sign customers up for loyalty or discount programs
- Prepare a 2-sentence elevator pitch for your product
- Start a conversation by asking a question
Similarly to how face painting and balloon twisting are by far the easiest ways to draw a crowd of families, they’re also so easiest ways we’ve ever seen to build a line of waiting parents who your team can talk to.
Method #2: Get your brand seen.
Consider using some of our custom branded entertainment–from custom caricature templates to tattoo stencils–to get your logo seen and remembered, including by people who aren’t there.

Maximize Your Reach by Getting Community Involvement.
Some of our favorite ways to get your business’s event in front of your target audience are:
- Invite first responders for a touch-a-truck (and consider pairing with themed First Responder Dog mascots)
- Work with other businesses in your building or shopping plaza who have similar demographics to introduce each other to your existing guests by using sharing news on your email lists or social media accounts.
- Invite local non-profits whose values align with your brand to raise funds at your event and, in turn, promote your business to their lists. Some successful attempts we’ve seen with this include giving a portion of the day’s sales to the non-profit, donating money for every visitor who the non-profit turns out for your business, or letting visitors enter a raffle with proceeds going to the joint cause.
