Cambridge, MA Face Painter and Balloon Twister: Jess M!

May 24, 2016 kscope

Jess M joined our company in September 2015 as a Cambridge MA-based balloon twister and has not only added “face painter” to her long creative resume, but a few degrees in the process!

524860_10153396359547097_3426688687219169313_nJess (left here) started with Kaleidoscope her senior year of college and graduated high school June 2016. She was inspired to apply for her job at Kaleidoscope while still in high school to combine her passions for art and childcare on the weekends while in school.

She moved to Cambridge in 2016 originally to attend Lesley University as an art education major, but stuck around after her graduation in May 2020. Jess specializes in visual art here (including balloons and other temporary tattoos) but is often seen at parties playing a clown, fairy, or pirate!

Jess now works in education Monday-Friday but continues her work as a balloon twister on the side.

In her free time while not teaching or twisting, Jess has a passion for gardening and urban agriculture, and has spent several summers (while off from her art teaching jobs) as a volunteer farmer in locally-owned MA farms.

She’s by far one of our best balloon twisters and is currently doing parties in all of MA, RI, and CT.

Jess’s work, a balloon twister sculpture, in the gallery of for her senior capstone project at Lesley University, Cambridge, MA.

Best set up for a balloon twister: in the shade or inside; small table and a chair; lighting to see our work; and far away from loud music or speakers
